As some of you know, I practice Reiki. At this point I am a Reiki II practitioner. I was attuned at a level I and went on to be attuned to a level II. I will be taking one more class that will make me a Reiki Master. I was attuned at a level I and went on to be attuned to a level II. I will be taking one more class that will make me a Reiki Master. I always find that when I try to tell people that I practice Reiki I get three common responses: I get asked what Reiki is and then people either understand and are curious or they think I'm a weirdo. So I'll start off with giving a general explanation of what Reiki is and then I will tell you about my journey to becoming a practitioner.
Reiki loosely translated means universal life force energy. It is a non invasive form of energy healing. It can do no harm, only good. The process involves a Reiki practitioner holding their hands above different points of the body to help your body heal itself by clearing out energy blockages and balance your energy to promote healing and well being. The practitioner serves as a conduit for the energy. Reiki can also be performed distantly and produce the same effects as in person. Reiki is NOT a religion and has no limit on how many times it can be done. It also has no concept of time so it can be sent to the past or future as well. There are plenty of skeptics out there and although during a session you should be in a positive state of mind to receive Reiki, just because someone doesn't believe in it doesn't mean it won't or doesn't work.
My journey to becoming a Reiki practitioner started long before I even knew it existed. I was always SUPER sensitive to energies and I still am. To this day, I will unconsciously move away from a person with bad energy. I never really understood what it was or what I was feeling and at one point mentioned it to someone that I thought was my friend and got made fun of in school. After that I was more selective about who I told but people still kind of looked at me funny so I stopped talking about it until I got into massage school and learned about Reiki. As soon as the teacher talked about it I knew that was what I needed to do. Shortly after I started meeting more people like me that could feel things I felt including a Reiki Master. I worked with this Reiki Master and she offered to do Reiki on me one day when we were slow at work. That was the second time I had had Reiki done to me, but I knew after that I needed to become a practitioner.
I practice Reiki on myself as well as friends and family. Usually they don't know I'm doing it to them. Sometimes I do it distantly just to send them good energy. I also do it in my dogs when they'll sit or lay long enough for me to do a full session on them. I'll be posting more things on my page to give more information on Reiki for anyone that would like to learn more about what I do. I will also be filming short distant healing sessions as well as providing distant healing sessions through Skype so that I can provide healing to anyone no matter where in the world you are. If you're interested in a session feel free to call me to book a session. You may also purchase a distance Reiki session via Skype here http://stores.starfyreinc.com/reiki/
